How to Move a TV
Preparation
Start by taking a picture of the back of the TV. So later you will know where all the wires connect when you put them back later at the new location.
Also you can use painters masking tape to label the cables, which can easily be removed later. Either end of the cable mark where it connects.
Put all cables remotes and stand in a separate box to keep them organized and from getting damaged. And label the box, TV accessories.
If your TV is mounted on the wall, refer to your manual on how to remove it. Ask for a second had for help, especially if it’s a large screen TV. Most TVs larger than 50 inches require two people to remove from the wall mount.
Before starting to pack the TV. Use a soft, dry cloth and clean any dust.
Packing
Most TVs this days contain full glass face screen. Which are very easily scratched and combine that with a thin design, you have an extremely fragile device. So it’s especially important to pack your TV carefully.
pack your TV in an appropriate box. If you have the TV’s original box with the protective foam and cover, use those pieces. If not buy a large heavy-duty box for TVs from a moving company, hardware store, or moving supply retailers. The box shouldn’t be much bigger than the TV. You only need enough room for packing material. You don’t want the TV to rock inside the box once it is packed.
Cover the TV with the original dust cover or use a soft blanket. Use appropriate coverage without adding too much bulk so the TV won’t fit into the box.
Once the TV is packed, keep the box upright. ALWAYS KEEP A FLAT SCREEN TV UPRIGHT! during moving and storage.
Label the box. Indicate “This End Up” which side should be kept up to stope and carry. Finally, write “Fragile” on all sides of the box.
Moving
Remember to treat your tv like the prized possession it is. It need extra caring like an egg. It’s fragile!
